Sober in the City

Sober in the City
There is #SoberJanuary and then there is having it all, without alcohol. The spiritless-savvy and simply those who are health-conscious, are all now partying as one. If you have maybe noticed that #SoberSaturday is trending over #SundayFunday, there is a reason why: the booze-free evolution is taking off. Want to join the party? Here are a few tips:
Just Dance
New York City, NY
For those living the sober life in NYC, nightlife has never been better. From luxe mocktails to first-class booze-free bars, there are options in every borough. Start at Listen Bar, where owner Lorelei Bandrovschi was dared to go sober for a month five years ago and never looked back. Getting started in October 2018 and now with fans worldwide, they are open only one night every month in Manhattan with sold-out parties with epic themes. For those looking for a drink-free dance floor, don’t miss The Get Down. Literally going down at the House of Yes in Brooklyn, DJ Tasha Blank was inspired by “music, movement, love” and with the party ending to ensure you get up for work on Friday. To all employers out there, we say: you’re welcome.

Experts and enthusiasts alike say that living this lifestyle is way easier than you think. When it comes to parties, just ensure you come prepared to B.Y.O.B: bring your own beverages. Luckily, even brands like Diageo (the second largest distillery in the world) have decided to fund nonalcoholic spirits companies like Seedlip. You can also pack your cooler with things like Rambler Sparkling Water, the Austin-based and sustainably sourced sparkling water purified through a unique Texas Limestone Filtration process. Fun fact: the brand is uniquely produced at Austin Beerworks. You can buy them all throughout the Southwest and this fall, they will be sponsoring EDGE: The Texas Monthly Festival November 8-10. Here, you will see a few familiar names: Grammy Award-winning recording artist and songwriter Leon Bridges, Grammy Award-winning recording artist St. Vincent and “Project Runway” judge and Lady Gaga go-to’s designer, Brandon Maxwell.
November 8-10
Find The Bomb Factory at 2713 Canton St, just a 10-minute drive from the upcoming Virgin Hotels Dallas, opening in late 2019.

This boss lady is the founder of the alcohol-free event series Club Söda NYC and an author of “Sober Curious: The Blissful Sleep, Greater Focus, Limitless Presence, and Deep Connection Awaiting Us All on the Other Side of Alcohol.” And no investigation is complete without some thorough investigating and that all begins with a boozefree cocktail. Don’t miss ReBar in Sin City where they feature a lengthy nonalcoholic beer and mocktail menu.
