Syrup Anyone?

All good things are better with syrup.
During the frigid winter months in Chicago, in terms of our diet, we happen to take advice from our favorite oversized Elf.
“We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup.”
Lucky for us, we’ve got the fourth main food group covered in Miss Ricky’s. Executive Chef Rick Gresh has #blessed all of Chicago this holiday season with a 3 year old bourbon barrel aged vanilla maple syrup.
How does one create this brilliance? We asked the man himself.
- You take a bourbon barrel.
- Soak it in beer.
- Age it for three years (good things take time, grasshopper).
- Mix in syrup, vanilla beans, and cinnamon, and you’ve crafted the finest maple syrup south of the Canadian border.
So…what can you top with this glorious vanilla bourbon drizzle?
Chicken and Waffles. Yes.
Ina’s Heavenly Hots. Obviously.
Or, you could just sip it alone. Chase it with a bit of bacon like the holiday warrior you are.
And please…consume responsibly. See you in Miss Ricky’s.
Chef Rick’s Barrel Aged Syrup makes the perfect last minute holiday gift. Take the bottle home for $55.
