5 Life Lessons from Ferris Bueller Fun Stuff By Virgin Hotels @VirginHotelsChi Share Share On Facebook Share On Twitter Share on LinkedIn Life does move pretty fast. We’ve been open for over a year now, but we’ll never forget when our favorite disruptor took to the Chicago streets and emulated another famous rebel-rouser – Chicago’s own Ferris Bueller. Ferris Fest is arriving in Chicago for the 30th anniversary of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and we’re transforming The Casting Room in Miss Ricky’s into the coolest teen’s bedroom of 1986: all weekend long. One thing we have in common with Cameron? Ferris Bueller is our hero. And what we like most about this iconic movie are the life lessons that come from the 17-year-old “righteous dude.” Most notably… Sometimes it’s good to do some “we shouldn’t be doing this” things. Even if you’re a Cameron. Confidence is key. And sometimes, you have to fake it ’til you make it. Push the limit – whether it’s yourself, at your job, or simply – societal rules. And finally, you should always find the time to have a spontaneous dance party. The re-creation of Ferris Bueller’s room will be in The Casting Room from Friday May 20 – Sunday May 22, 9-5pm. Tickets are available here, and we’ll have The Sausage King of Chicago Rolls and a Buckledown Brewery Ferris Bueller beer on special in Miss Ricky’s.
