‘Don’t Sleep On Voting’ An Empowering Campaign

Designed to inspire voter participation, Virgin Hotels teams up with the legendary and original home of hip hop, The Source, to tap a network of artists, performers, musicians and more to generate social media videos urging people to vote in this historic 2020 election.

“Don’t Sleep on Voting” is a nonpartisan campaign calling upon a lineup of familiar faces to motivate people to use their voice and vote for the future. Taking this commitment, a step further, beginning October 20 the social media-based campaign will roll out empowering messages from a diverse group of artists and creators on both the Virgin Hotels and The Source Instagram pages, reminding people to not sleep on voting. Content will go live each day across various social media platforms leading up to November 3, with videos from names including rapper, singer and record producer Vic Mensa, GRAMMY-nominated artist Cassadee Pope, comedian and actor Felonious Munk, singer-songwriter Melody Angel, producer and DJ Gromo, singer-songwriter Marc Scibilia, actor and activist GARCIA, country music artist Ingrid Andress, rapper and songwriter Lola Brooke, singer-songwriter and guitarist Kellindo, rising singer-songwriter Kyla Imani, singer-songwriter and rapper Josh X and Uno, country music singer-songwriter Charlie Worsham and more.

Not sure if you’re registered to vote? No biggie. There are multiple ways to check your voting status, the easiest being social media.

Facebook or Instagram currently features links to voting information pages based on the user’s primary location; these links redirect users to their state’s election page.

Those looking to check their voting status must provide their first name, last name, and birthday. The results will show whether or not the user is an active voter (meaning, registered and eligible to vote), the user’s original registration date, the county they are registered to vote in, and their voter ID number.
