The highly anticipated Virgin Hotels Nashville opens on July 1, 2020 with a variety of food and beverage options for visitors. The hotel’s fourteenth floor rooftop restaurant and bar The Pool Club will offer a small food menu, champagne cocktails, and impressive city views.

Shared plates at The Pool Club include smoked deviled eggs, littleneck clams, smashed avocado toast, and a Nashville hot-spiced fish and chips. A small menu of entrees includes an obligatory burger, steak frites, and salmon with greens and ginger peach chutney. Of course there is beer and wine by the glass and bottle, plus a selection of champagne-crowned cocktails and boozy snow cones.

Executive chef Patrick McEntyre oversees the food throughout the hotel, which also includes downstairs’ Funny Library Coffee Shop. Laughing Man Coffee (a brand co-founded by actor Hugh Jackman) and a menu of grab-and-go breakfast lunch items are on offer here, in a space serving as lounge and communal remote working space. Funny Library will feature a number of whimsical books and games, and sell Nashville treats from local makers. Commons Club, Virgin Hotels’ flagship restaurant, bar, and lounge, is set to debut later this year on the first floor.

McEntyre has been in Nashville since 2011, when he joined the culinary team at Nashville’s historic Hermitage Hotel. The chef began his career in the kitchen at NYC’s Gramercy Tavern. Since living in Nashville, he also worked with Marriott International and served as executive chef at Loews Vanderbilt’s restaurant — Mason’s Southern Provisions. He also worked with the Dream Nashville before signing on with Virgin Hotels Nashville.

On the first weekend open, Virgin Hotels Nashville is Fourth of July event “The Star Spangled Disco” — complete with a two-hour open bar, sliders and hot dogs, plus some of Nashville’s best DJs, including Hustle & Bump, Maggie Wells, and David Bermudez of Sparkle City Disco. The party starts at 6 p.m. July 4.
