As summer rolls into fall, it’s the perfect time to take to one of Nashville’s rooftop bars. It’s a little slice of heaven where you can sit back, enjoy cocktails and a view, and escape from some of the realities of the world below. Thankfully, our city is coming through in a big way, with two new rooftop bars offering tasty libations, lively ambiance, and an elevated (literally) way to appreciate the beautiful Nashville skyline.
Two New Nashville Rooftop Bars
White Limozeen at The Graduate Hotel

You can never go wrong with an ode to Dolly. With a vibrant color scheme, playful decor that includes a giant bust of Dolly Parton herself and bright pink accents as far as the eye can see, White Limozeen is a tribute to the larger-than-life country star. Having already received national coverage for its recent opening, it’s poised to attract tourists and locals alike. Sitting pretty on top of Nashville’s Graduate Hotel, the new rooftop bar is the latest concept from Marc Rose and Med Abrous, the dream team behind the hotel’s fun and kitschy Cross-Eyed Critters Watering Hole, and The Graduate’s all-day café, Poindexter. The new space not only offers a cushy indoor lounge but a gussied up poolside patio to boot. Oversized daybeds and tables dotted with pink umbrellas provide the chance to comfortably watch a sunset and sip on spirited drinks such as the Frozen Iguana, a slushie with notes of cucumber and mint, or the Velvet Tuxedo, described as “a milk punch that grooves to Elvis in the penthouse suite.” They even have champagne Jell-O shots for those who are feeling ambitious. From smoked trout fritters to caviar, the menu is seafood-forward, with standout items such as mussels in Nashville hot butter. There are plenty of other palate pleasers to choose from, too, including chicken liver pie on pumpernickel crust and French onion tortellini.
Reservations are recommended for White Limozeen, and they are required if you’re looking to hang at the “Governor’s Pool,” so be sure to book your spot in advance. The three-hour poolside time slots offer plenty of time to soak up the sun and take a dip, and chairs are $30, Monday through Friday; $45, Saturday and Sunday.

The Pool Club Rooftop Bar at the Virgin Hotel Nashville

A beautiful view of Music Row isn’t the only thing you’ll enjoy at the Virgin Hotel’s new 14th floor Pool Club Rooftop Bar. Though the pool area itself (which boasts beautiful cabanas and loungers) is reserved for guests, the outdoor restaurant and bar tables and serene indoor dining space with massive windows overlooking the city are the hotspots. Reservations and walk-ins are welcome at both the restaurant and bar, where you can indulge in shareable plates such as cheddar crab dip, crispy fish tacos, or heartier dishes such as burgers and steak frites. Specialty cocktails like the Aperol Snow (shaved ice, Aperol, orange and prosecco) are the perfect warm-weather refreshments, and the ‘Rita, the Pool Club’s take on a classic margarita, adds a fun kick to your beverage with agave, cucumber and jalapeño. If you’re part of a bigger group, the “Drinks with my Friends” section of the menu offers larger portions of favorites like the Backwoods Barbie, a rosé sangria with vodka, grapefruit and strawberries, served in a fun flamingo vessel. No matter your menu choice, you can’t go wrong.

An Upgraded Patio
The Break Room at Noble’s Kitchen and Beer Hall

When the March tornado left Noble’s Kitchen and Beer Hall with considerable damage, the owners turned lemons into lemonade. Recently remodeled and reopened for business, the East Nashville restaurant is now home to a re-themed upstairs bar and lounge called The Break Room, a 21-and-over establishment with both a covered patio and another that’s open for warm-weather dining. Cocktails, beer and food can be ordered at the bar, with a late-night menu that includes pork rinds and brisket queso, loaded tater tots and hot dogs. Their fun “Lunch Box Specials” offer the adult version of old-school favorites such as the “5 O’Clock Somewhere,” a bologna slider and beer combo that’s sure to prompt nostalgia. If cocktails and a fun food menu aren’t enough to persuade you to head over, you can let your competitive side do the talking. With darts, a pool table and other games such as ring hook, boredom isn’t an option.
