Bad Clowns & Good Friends

Following the success of last year’s festival shows hosted in Eve, Edinburgh on the vibrant Cowgate in the heart of all the action, the award-winning comedy trio Bad Clowns return this year to put on a night of the best comedy acts from this year's festival every Friday and Saturday of the Fringe, and you're invited! Entry is free & while you soak up the laughs you can grab a bite to eat from Eve’s late-night menu.

The Comedy Speakeasy; Best of the Fringe
August 6th, 13th & 20th at 11pm I Eve
Join us at Eve this August for The Comedy Speakeasy: Best of the Fringe, a late-night showcase hosted by Edinburgh’s own Liam Withnail – Scottish Comedy Award winner and resident MC at Monkey Barrel. Every Wednesday at 11pm, Liam presents a handpicked line-up of top Fringe comedians for an unmissable night of laughs.
Best of all? It’s completely free. Grab a drink, a late-night eat and settle in to enjoy the very best of the Fringe in the stylish setting of Eve.

ABBA Odessey
9th - 24th August
Returning this year to Virgin Hotels Edinburgh during the Fringe festival is ABBA Odessey – The Live Concert!. This all-seated show features singers who produce the most authentic tribute to the iconic ABBA sound. With over 13 years of experience performing throughout the UK together, Agnetha and Frida (Fran and Kat) have perfected their highly acclaimed vocal blend. ABBA Odyssey – The Live Concert! features all the hits that you know and love, plus a few hidden gems for the most devoted ABBA fans! Suitable for all ages.

15th - 17th August I Greyfriars Hall
One of Ireland’s most celebrated singing stars, songwriter and interpreter, Brian Kennedy, returns to Greyfriars Hall on 15th – 17th. With a phenomenal 35-year career, enjoy his exceptional vocal talents from his 1990 debut The Great War of Words to his latest Joni Mitchell tribute, whom he toured with. Music is his lifeblood, constant gigging from Ireland, UK to Asia as a Secret Garden guest, the first international artist to record the globally famous anthem You Raise Me Up. Van Morrison recruited him to join his now unforgettable blues and soul revue tour as guest lead singer and featured on five of Van's albums.

Artist in Residence
July - September I The Unicorn Room
Our Artist in Residency program will also run during the summer months with the next residency open to applications July 2025. Visitors to the hotel during summer can discover the inspiration behind our artists work and get a sneak peak into their creative process when they tour the studio in The Unicorn Room in one of the historic turrets on the 10th floor of the hotel.

Pull up a seat at The Chef's Table at Commons Club every Wednesday through Saturday for a unique dining experience that will embark guests on a nostalgic journey reflecting on the milestones that have shaped Chef de Cuisine Emma Hanley's culinary journey to date.
June through to August Chef's Table Journey will continue to a destination close to our hearts at Commons Club, that of Edinburgh. Focusing on fresh, seasonal ingredients and traditional dishes showcasing local produce, creating innovative dishes that pay homage to both tradition and contemporary creativity for a truly exceptional dining experience.
