At the heart of the original India Buildings, lining the top of Victoria Street, lies our impressive Oculus Lounge.
Follow our red staircase from the front door and you’ll find a three-tiered domed rotunda with decorative original tiling and circular cast iron balustrades which have been loving restored to their former glory creating a beautiful light-filled space that looks and feels as special as the history behind it.

We're thrilled to introduce our Artist in Residence programme aimed at supporting Edinburgh's vibrant art scene & creative community. We're thrilled to introduce local creative Constantine.. as our next Artist in Residence, setting up Studio in our Unicorn Room tucked away in one of The Historic Old Town turrets on the 10th floor of the hotel.
Constantine..’s residency at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, will allow him to expand his "VIGILANTE" series. First conceptualised in 2020 and exhibited in 2023, “VIGILANTE” explores themes through the lens of a nemesis figure. The core message of Constantine..'s work revolves around self-reflection and the human tendency to judge others. He aims to create art that challenges the status quo, playing with the perception of the good vs evil behind the mask.
