It’s Opening Day for us Cubs fans. Baseball is officially back.

Maybe it’s because we think the Chicago Cubs are in the running for the 2016 World Series, or maybe it’s because the start of baseball season means summer is that much closer (here’s hoping, anyways – because as of last week, we’re still getting snow). In any event, today is a great opportunity to get reacquainted with America’s pastime… cocktails! Er, we mean baseball. NVRQT cubs guys blogWhether you’re athletic or not, chances are you like a good cocktail while ‘living’ the sporting life, right?  We teamed up with Cubs pitcher Jon Lester and his charity NVRQT for one winning collaboration. NVRQT helps to raise awareness and money for children’s cancer research. Jon graciously donated one of his baseball mitts to us. What did we do with it? Made a drink out of it, obviously. Using baseball at Wrigley Field as his inspiration, our Spirit Guide created a cocktail that is truly baseball – in a glass. How, do you ask? The “Never Quit” is a vodka infused leather cocktail with peanut syrup and leaf alcohol that smells of fresh cut grass. Top it off with a splash of Old Style, and you’ve got yourself a true Wrigley taste sensation. NVRQT funnyVirgin Hotels Chicago will donate $1 for every “Never Quit” cocktail purchased. Stop by The Commons Club and enjoy through June 11. Trust us, you’ll have a ball.

Did we mention that everyone who drinks the cocktail before June 11 will be entered to win tickets to the Cubs’ annual charity event (where Eddie Vedder played last year) or one of Lester’s baseball mitts.
